Open Access queries -  (including compliance with HEFCE/REF2021 and funder policies) please contact: - some example open access queries might include:

  • What is open access?
  • How can I benefit from making my research outputs open access?
  • Are there any funds available to help pay my publisher’s charge for immediate open access on publication – and if so, how can I apply for them?

Pure queries -  (including when, what, how to deposit on our institutional repository) please contact - some example Pure queries might include:

  • How do I deposit a copy of my paper into Pure?
  • I know I need to deposit a version of my paper on Pure to be eligible for the REF2021 submission – what version and when should I deposit?
  • Do I have to use Pure if I’m paying for my paper to be made immediately OA?

Research Support at King's

Research support is available to assist with managing your research publications, including use of King’s institutional repository system Pure and the Research Portal by which King’s showcases its research to the world.

Support is also available with managing your research data, including drawing up data management plans.


King's College London subscribes to Research Professional where you can set up a search for your subject area and receive notifications about new funding opportunities.

Research data can take many forms - some types of research data are described below. 

Research data management is the active and effective management of research data to enable high quality research and so that it can be made openly available if appropriate. 

Some example research data management queries might include:

  • Can you provide help with the data management plan my funder is asking for?
  • What are my options for storing my research data whilst conducting my project?
  • Where can I make my data available after I have completed my research?
