21 Oct 2016: we are aware of difficulties when registering - there is an issue linked to older versions of the Internet Explorer browser. We have found that registration normally works if you cut and paste the registration link into another browser.
NHS OpenAthens (previously called Athens) is the single username and password for nearly all the library resources purchased for NHS staff.

The key links on the left hand side of this page will allow you register, update details and check on the different resources available to you.
Registration is straight forward using the online form - complete your details - click the link in the resulting email and select a password. Registration is best carried out on an NHS PC to ensure your are recognised as being eligible but you can also register from any PC provided you use your NHS email address.
You can login using your email address rather than then username but do retain your username in case you need to reset your password.
